Bad Merchandise, Bad Management, Bad Experpiece
I purchased a new love seat and sofa from Cleo's furniture in the early part of January 2017. When I went into the store the first time, a salesperson greeted me.
I told the salesperson we were going to look around. She proceeded to follow us throughout the store. While I didn't care for that too much, I just kind of ignored it. I found a love seat and sofa that I thought would work well for my home.
I purchased it. When they delivered the sofa and love seat, I noticed that the love seat was damaged. I've been told this is a recurring issue with them and that you have to catch damage before the delivery people leave or Cleo's will not do anything. Fortunately, I caught the damage.
Cleo's said they would deliver a second love seat. About a week later, a second love seat was delivered. This love seat was damaged worse than the first one! I contacted the manager, Jason.
I left a message for him. He never returned my call. I called him back and he said that they would deliver a third one and handed me off to another person. This company wasted hours and hours of my time, put excessive wear and tear on my door entry, interrupted my work over and over again and never even attempted to do anything to make things right, other than continue to deliver me damaged goods.
The third time they brought the love seat, they brought the same one they had two tries ago and it was damaged. Damaged was written on the ticket each time. I contacted the store. My salesperson told me she could do nothing and that I had to speak to the manager.
I spoke with the assistant manager. He told me they had failed as a brand and that they would just come pick up my sofa and love seat and refund my money. Of course, they will tie up my funds for several days before the money is actually refunded, which means I may go without furniture for a short time. This is SOOO not acceptable.
Please do not waste your time on this company and double check your items over and over again.
I am attaching one photo. This was just one area, there were numerous areas damaged and other areas were more severe, with huge chunks of fabric missing.
- Tried to offload defective damage to me
- Have tied up my funding
- Fact that they wasted my time
Preferred solution: After all my time that this company has wasted, I would have preferred options. They simply told me "we've failed as a brand," we will just issue you a refund. I asked if that was the best they could do. He said yes. That is not acceptable. I
Been a nightmare got wrong product given run around
Cleo's warranty is not guaranteed!
Purchased 2 reclining sofas and a big recliner. Catnapped is the brand.
Both arms came off of one of the sofas. Contacted Cleo's in Fayetteville AR. The parts have a lifetime warranty. Had to pay $70 cash for them to pick up sofa for repairs.
After 3 months and 14 telephone calls- the sofa is still not repaired. Last message from them said it would take another 10 days for the parts to come in. They offered another option. We could pay to get the broken sofa back home and they could send someone to engineer something at our house to repair the sofa.
Why would you engineer something when you can get the parts that are under warranty. All warrantyies I have ever dealt with are void if you don't use the factory parts. What's wrong with this picture? We have no sitting options when family is here.
I paid ash for this furniture.
My husband has forbidden me to walk in that store again. My broken sofa is being held hostage.
Dissatisfied
My mother and I purchased Queen Bedroom suit, couch and over sized chair and matress on 5/10/17. Furniture was delivered on 5/12/17 but oversized chair was not.
Due to miss understanding it was never put on order. So 5/13/17 went back to store. Purchased oversized chair, couch and reckuner set, queen bed and mattress set. Once home bed rail had No hook on the end, called store, was told to come pick up some but they were not the right ones.
So salesman, who was asst manager had to order his hooks on 5/13/17.
Today, 5/24/17 my New Bed is still seating on floor. I have called left messages no return call until today
Slit middle couch pillows and flat middle pillow slit on side of the arm
My couch has 3 pillows on the seat part I purchased 2 of the same couches one was already tearing apart the first day I took pictures and sent it to the sales person he promised me it was a new couch because I asked him if it was a floor sample because it was already tired on part and the plastic was not on there also the guy that loaded it on the truck said the same i called several times left several messages I even left messages asking them to give me the name of the magnify so I can order more pillows no return phone call well I paid my couches off in less than 3 months and I only had them 3 month and the pillows are flattened in the middle and slits open on each side.
Misrepresented Sold wrong mattress
I went into the store,July 5th 2016, where I have bought all my furniture for the past 3 yrs. Including a whole house of furniture for my son.
I have had no problems in the past. I knew that I was buying a king size bed, mattress, and a dinette set. The salesman, PETE, first showed me mattresses. I told him I had a memory foam now and wasn't happy with it.
He kept telling me the ones they had on sale was completely different they had a cool gel top. He showed me a Cool Jewel Moonlight, I laid on it, but was skeptical still. So he laid on it and told me to run my hand under his back and I would see that is was aligned straight. So I agreed to this mattress after awhile.
I have issues with my back is why I was so adamant about the mattress I bought. I knew which bed I wanted, but the salesman obviously felt he was buying it and wouldn't walk toward any of them, but yet showed me ones that were cheaper. I looked at several dinette sets and I wanted one with 8 chairs for holidays. Again he had his own idea about which one I needed, with 6 chairs.
I believe he was under the impression that I was going to use their RAC credit. I had no plans on that I was using my own credit card.
Well the next week I picked my furniture up. I didn't get a chance to put it together because my mother was admitted back to the hospital and put on Hospice.
I stayed with her 24/7. She passed away on July 23rd and then I asked my sons to put my bed together for me. I waited 24 hours to sleep on the mattress. To give it time to fully expand.
The first week I wasn't thinking about how I was sleeping, I thought it was just me. Then the following two weeks I thought maybe I am just so exhausted from everything. I looked at my mattress when I had washed my sheets and I noticed it was not the same name he had shown me in the store. He had shown me a Cool Jewel Moonlight and I had been given a Cool Jewel Starlight.
He also changed it on my contract to a Starlight. I had no idea he had done this. I saw a king bed and king mattress on the contract and I had never had any problems before this, so I didn't look at every detail. Which was my second mistake, my first was letting PETE sell me anything.
I went back to the store, Aug 18th, 2016, to make sure I was right. I was very right, the mattress he sold me was in a completely different room that I never walked into. My husband and granddaughter were with me, so I have witnesses. I also took someone with me this time.
I spoke with a salesman and told him the issue, that I had been sold a different mattress than shown and that the mattress was very uncomfortable.
The one he sold me was actually cheaper, so it's not about the price it's about the comfort and being misrepresented. He went to get his mgr and came back and told me that PETE was back from lunch so he would be with me shortly to correct the

Living Room Set Financing Review
Cleos Furniture - Furniture Set Review
Its definitely a rip off!!im caught up in it now..found $599 living room suite, plus guardmen protection plan $79.99 total $678...payoff option 90 days..Now after the 90 days this furniture went back up to &793.57...I feel if its on sale for $599..it should never jump back up to no $793..all together I'll be outta $1,471.00 for this living room suite.&also some type of preferred customer club $12.99 added to my payment each month..what purpose does it serve. It clearly shows i pay $140 monthly & only $125 goes toward my furniture note. It's gotta be a better way.
Hardwood Floor Damage During Furniture Delivery
The delivery company damaged my hardwood floor in two places. One area is right in the middle of the floor, so very noticeable.
The sofa also had a tear, which I didn't notice until after I signed the delivery ticket. I contacted Cleo's in Little Rock and spoke to the salesperson that sold me the furniture. He said that his "manager would call me". A week passed and I called the store again, finally speaking with the manager.
He was very carefree and said that he would work with the delivery company to see what they could do about the damage. By the way I noted the damage on the delivery ticket that they insist that you sign along with giving them $80.00 for the delivery. This occurred in January 2016, it is now October 2016 and I have not heard a word back from Cleo's regarding my damaged floor. Very, very, poor customer service.
I will never buy furniture from the again. Also, please be careful when sign the delivery ticket because it relieves Cleo's from any claims, including damage to your furniture.

Yes I am experiencing the same thing. I have realized its better to go to a Rent To own business such as Bestbuy etc..Here at least all your payments are going towards the merchandise, and not towards taxes, which are supposed to be included in the price.
Now if we pay taxes every-time we pay a furniture note, we are paying the Rent to own price without the 90 days same as cash option, or at least about 900$ more.
That would be 900 in taxes for 1500 worth of merchandise so around 2400. there is something shady going on here, and I am sure this didn't just start, probably been going on for years, and also what is the deal with all of the guys working in the store, no women, just young and old guys.
